 Online Training

April 1968

The Indiana Laborers' Training Trust Fund was established through collective bargaining initiated by the State of Indiana District Council Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA) and Contractor Association's representatives. The fund provides training to upgrade the skills of laborers presently employed in the construction industry and to train entry level construction craft laborer apprentices to be employed in the industry.

December 1995

The US Department of Labor recognized the "Construction Craft Laborer" as a skilled trade classification and our apprenticeship program was awarded a certificate of registration.

April 1996

After being registered, the Indiana Laborers' Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) began statewide implementation of its "Construction Craft Laborer" Apprenticeship program with the first pre-employment course held in Fort Wayne, IN.

The core curriculum of the apprenticeship program is geared toward providing the basic necessary training for the new apprentice to begin working for various contractors in a safe and productive manner. The Apprenticeship Coordinator and the Local Union Business Offices encourage the new apprentice to begin their training with the 40 hour OSHA Construction Safety Course. To schedule the course, call 1.800.742.4086.

If you have not yet applied for the apprenticeship program, please visit your local union hall or click here to apply online.
